Pascal Pernot, fourth-generation vigneron at his family domaine in Brochon on the northern edge of Gevrey-Chambertin, crafts this Bourgogne Côte d'Or as the entry point to his all-Pinot Noir range. The fruit comes from east-facing parcels on clay-limestone soils at around 265 metres, drawn from younger vines and declassified lots farmed with sustainable methods and progressively introduced biodynamic practices — the same careful approach applied across every wine in the cellar.

Half the wine is aged in fine-grained Billon and Rousseau barrels and half in stainless steel tank for twelve months, a deliberate choice that keeps oak firmly in the background and lets the fruit speak clearly — a marked contrast to the village bottlings, which spend eighteen months entirely in barrel. The 2023 vintage, though warm and harvested early around 7 September, benefited from a relatively cool summer that preserved lively acidity and moderate alcohol, delivering exactly what Pascal describes as "gourmand, rond et friand": pure, round, and joyfully easy to drink, at its best from now through 2027.
