One of just two Grand Crus of the Coteaux du Layon, Bonnezeaux occupies steep south-facing schist slopes above the Layon river where the concentration of botrytised Chenin Blanc reaches its apex. The resulting wines combine honeyed richness with the razor-sharp acidity that schist terroir imparts, producing some of France's most age-worthy sweet whites — capable of evolving for decades — from one of the Loire's smallest and most precious appellations.
