2007 — Harvest rain in Bordeaux hurt the vintage on the Left Bank, though Pomerol and Saint-Émilion fared considerably better, producing some very fine wines. Burgundy delivered a good, fresh and elegant vintage that remains underrated and continues to drink well.

In Spain, Rioja produced solid results well regarded at the crianza tier, and Ribera del Duero and Priorat also delivered good quality. Champagne produced an exceptional vintage year for many houses — one of the finest of the decade.
