El César Príncipe es un vino tinto de la bodega César Príncipe, elaborado en la denominación de origen Cigales, dentro de la región de Castilla y León, España. Se trata de una añada 2007, presentada en formato magnum de 1,5 litros.
La producción se basa en un 100% de uva Tempranillo procedente de viñedos con edades comprendidas entre 70 y 100 años. Estos viñedos se localizan en las parcelas El Negral, La Parada, La Majada y El Velero, situadas en ladera con poca pendiente. Los suelos de la zona se componen de arcilla y arena en profundidad, con una abundante capa de canto rodado en superficie. La crianza de este vino se realiza durante 14 meses en barricas de roble.
En cuanto a su perfil sensorial, Robert Parker (91+) describe al 2007 César Príncipe como un vino de color morado opaco y densidad notable. Presenta una compleja gama aromática que incluye especias asiáticas, violetas, café espresso, notas minerales, cereza negra y mora. En la boca, se define como denso, maduro y aterciopelado, logrando combinar potencia con elegancia. Se destaca por su jugosidad, equilibrio impecable y un final largo y puro. The 2007 Cesar Principe is also 100% Tempranillo sourced from 2 single vineyards with 60+ years of age. It was aged for 16 months in new, mostly French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it sports an already complex aromatic array of Asian spices, violets, espresso, mineral, black cherry, and blackberry that jumps from the glass. Dense, ripe, and plush on the palate, it is able to combine power with elegance. It has plenty of succulence, impeccable balance, and a lengthy, pure finish. It will be at its best from 2013 to 2027.

This César Príncipe 2007 has evolved really well, a pleasant surprise. Tasted in magnum (which makes the wine evolve more slowly in the bottle), this Tempranillo is now in all its fullness, on the nose it gives off abundant tertiary notes, ripe, silky ... a delight. We hope to age just as well.

The winery carries the name of the father of the man who built it. Eutiquio, the grandfather, passed all his winemaking knowledge to his son César Príncipe; and it was César's son, Ignacio, who laid the foundations of the winery as it is known today, in 1982, and gave it his father's name.
The house stands in the highest part of Fuensaldaña. In the nineties they made the jump from selling the classic clarete in bulk to bottling it, and the turning point came in 2000 with the wine that bears the house's name: it scored 94 Parker points in its first vintage and put the reds of Cigales on the map, in an appellation known until then for its clarete.
The wine is 100% Tempranillo from vineyards between seventy and a hundred years old, on gently sloping plots. The soil is clay and sand at depth, with abundant rolled pebbles on the surface, and ageing runs fourteen months in oak barrels.
