The Geographical Indication Vino de la Tierra de Mallorca covers island wines produced outside the Binissalem and Pla i Llevant DOs, including zones such as the Serra de Tramuntana and the Raiguer. Indigenous varieties — Callet, Manto Negro, Prensal Blanc and Fogoneu — sit alongside international ones. Limestone soils and an insular Mediterranean climate with a moderating maritime influence produce wines of characteristic minerality and moderate alcohol. Production is very limited, oriented primarily to the local market and high-end tourism.
