The DO Valencia comprises four sub-zones: Valentino and Clariano (reds and rosés from Monastrell, Garnacha, and international varieties in the interior); Moscatel de Valencia (natural sweet wines made from Moscatel de Alejandría with fermentation arrested, with a long tradition in European markets); and Alto Turia (whites and rosés at higher altitude with more freshness). The sweet Moscatel wines of the Valencian coast — produced with minimal or no fermentation — are the denomination's most recognisable and widely exported product.
