Grand Tinel 2016
The Domaine du Grand Tinel covers 56 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape and 18 ha of Cotes du Rhone. This Chateauneuf du Pape is composed of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah aged in foudres.
The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape is an 80-20 blend of Grenache and Syrah, raised in a mix of different-sized wood and tanks. One the nose, it nicely reflects the sun and generosity of the year, showing hints of sun-warmed stones, black cherries and raspberries, yet never tips over into sur-maturité. It's medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a lingering finish that picks up shadings of dried herbs and licorice. It should drink well for a decade.
