Lagar do Vento is Roberto Regal's project in Belesar, Chantada, the most Atlantic subzone of Ribeira Sacra. Its 2 ha of granite terraces above the Miño are farmed heroically by hand, yielding fewer than 4,000 bottles.

95% Mencía and 5% Garnacha Tintureira, fermented 80% in stainless steel and 20% in third-use French oak. Fewer than 4,000 bottles.

Do Peizas 2023 es un vino tinto de la bodega Lagar do Vento, situado en Belesar, Chantada, dentro de la subzona más atlántica de la denominación Ribeira Sacra en Galicia. Se trata de una añada joven, elaborada en 2023, que proviene de una parcela de dos hectáreas de terrazas graníticas situadas sobre el río Miño.

La elaboración de esta pieza parte de un viñedo trabajado a mano, sin mecanización, que limita la producción a menos de 4.000 botellas anuales. La base de la mezcla es de 95% de uva Mencía y un 5% de Garnacha Tintureira. El proceso de fermentación se divide entre dos tipos de recipientes: un 80% se realiza en acero inoxidable y un 20% en barricas de roble francés de tercer uso.

El vino representa una expresión directa del granito y el clima atlántico de Chantada, elaborado con respeto por la tradición vitivinícola de la zona. La baja producción y la variedad de uva sugieren un carácter concentrado y fresco, propio de la Mencía en estas latitudes.

Lagar do Vento is a family winery in Belesar, Chantada, on a granite hillside falling to the Miño river in the heart of Ribeira Sacra — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2021. Two hectares of steep terraces, heroic viticulture, strictly hand-harvested: mechanisation is impossible here, and every gesture in the vineyard is a deliberate choice.

The winery is the only member in Galicia of the Spanish Regenerative Viticulture Association and a member of the global Regenerative Viticulture Foundation. Their philosophy goes beyond preservation: they actively seek to regenerate the soil as a carbon sink and help reverse climate damage. Instead of pesticides, they cultivate communities of native insects and microorganisms; Atlantic gorse grows alongside Mediterranean orange, olive and fig trees, a biodiversity that is their main defence against vine disease.

The varieties are those of Ribeira Sacra: mencía for the reds — led by Do Peizas, voted best red wine of the appellation — and godello, treixadura and loureira for the whites. Limited production of four thousand bottles a year.
