Tomás Postigo 3er Año takes its name from the wine's release schedule: following the tradition established by Vega Sicilia and the historic houses of Rioja, it reaches the market three years after the vintage rather than at the standard Crianza or Reserva intervals. Bodegas Tomás Postigo is based in Peñafiel, at the heart of Ribera del Duero, where its vineyards sit between 750 and 1,000 metres on calcareous and sandy-loam soils laced with stones and pebbles. The blend draws on Tinto Fino alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec, the proportions varying by vintage according to parcel performance.

Each parcel is fermented separately, with destemmed fruit transferred by gravity into stainless steel tanks without mechanical crushing, preserving the integrity of the berry.
