El Nicéforo es un vino tinto de la bodega Ramos Ducher, situado en el municipio burgalés de Olmedillo de Roa, dentro de la Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero, en la región de Castilla y León. Se elabora con la variedad 100% Tinta del país, procedente de la Viña Tamarón, una parcela única de aproximadamente una hectárea ubicada a 850 metros de altitud. Las cepas, plantadas en 1945, presentan una edad aproximada de 74 años en la vendimia de 2019. El viñedo se encuentra sobre suelos franco-arcillosos, pobres y bien drenados, cultivados sin herbicidas ni tratamientos sistémicos.

La elaboración se basa en una vendimia manual con rigurosa selección en la viña. La crianza se realiza durante 24 meses en 4 barricas nuevas de roble francés, de las tonelerías Murua y Rousseau, utilizando la totalidad de la producción. El vino apenas ha sido clarificado y no ha recibido filtración antes del embotellado.

La elaboración destaca un enfoque de minimalismo en la intervención en bodega y un respeto estricto por la edad del viñedo. El vino presenta las características de un tinto de Ribera del Duero elaborado con uvas de viñas antiguas, con un proceso que prioriza la autenticidad de la parcela y la crianza en roble nuevo, apenas clarificado.

The name brings together two surnames and two countries: the Ramos family, of Olmedillo de Roa, and the Ducher family, of French descent. The house is dedicated to three forebears — Renée, Nicéforo and Conrado — and one of them gives his name to the single-plot wine.

The winery is in Olmedillo de Roa, in Burgos, at 850 metres. Their forebears planted the vineyard and part of it predates 1950.

They work plot by plot, and each one has its name: Viña Tamarón, Viña Bierra, Viña Valdelozán — upper and lower — Viña Fuenteolmillos, Viña El Prado and Viña Las Navas.

Nicéforo comes from Viña Tamarón, one hectare at 850 metres on poor, well-drained clay-loam soil, from vines planted in 1945: they were 74 years old at the 2019 harvest. It is 100% tinta del país, worked with no herbicides and no systemic treatments.

It is picked by hand with selection in the vineyard and ages twenty-four months in four new French oak barrels, from the Murua and Rousseau cooperages: the whole vintage fits in them. It is barely clarified and not filtered. The house red comes from 45-year-old vines, 85% tempranillo, 11% merlot and 4% cabernet, aged nine months between French and American oak.
