Carlo Revello & Figli Barolo 2015
Vineyards in Annunziata village 33 km southeast at 250 meters and southwest at 260 meters above sea level. Calcareous and clay soils.
Vinification in horizontal rotating macerators for approximately 4 days in contact with skins, completion of alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks in approximately 10 days, malolactic fermentation in French barrels. Ageing 24 months in French barrels using 20% new and 80% used.
The Carlo Revello & Figli 2015 Barolo is subdued and slightly evolved with aromas of dried currant, crushed flowers and campfire ash. The wine shows a silky and taut texture with polished, almost glossy tannins, shaped by two years of aging in large Slavonian oak casks. This classic Barolo represents a blend of fruit from La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba, with calcareous and clay soils, respectively. The first adds fragrant floral intensity to the bouquet, and the second adds power and structure. This 13,000-bottle release is drinking well at this young stage, straight out of the gate.
