Carlo Revello & Figli traces its origins to Giacomo Revello, whose 9-hectare estate in La Morra passed in the 1980s to his sons Enzo and Carlo, who operated together under the name Fratelli Revello. A family division in 2016 led Carlo to establish Carlo Revello & Figli alongside his eldest son Erik, a trained oenologist from the Alba school, with the cantina based in the hamlet of Santa Maria, La Morra, farming 7 hectares of Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. The initials R.G. stand for the two MGAs — Rocche dell'Annunziata and Giachini, both in La Morra — whose fruit was blended into this cuvée across just four vintages, 2013 to 2016, before it was discontinued following the family split; the 2015 was vinified when the winery still operated as Fratelli Revello and later released under the Carlo Revello & Figli label.

The wine is 100% Nebbiolo sourced from Rocche dell'Annunziata, a south-southwest facing site at 270–380 metres, and Giachini, southeast facing at 270 metres, both on Tortonian Sant'Agata fossil marl soils rich in calcareous silt and clay. Viticulture follows lutte raisonnée principles — sulphur and copper only, organic fertilisation, no insecticides — with fermentation carried out using indigenous yeasts over approximately 7 to 10 days in vertical steel tanks, malolactic fermentation in steel, and 24 months of ageing in oak barriques; alcohol reaches 15%, and production was limited to roughly 333 cases. The 2015 vintage delivered exceptional ripeness and concentration in La Morra while retaining the structural backbone characteristic of the appellation.
