Julien Brocard was born in 1973, studied engineering and in 1995 came to work at the family winery, his father Jean-Marc Brocard's.
Two years later he began applying biodynamics to a single parcel, La Boissonneuse. He was the first to do so in Chablis, in a district where the chardonnay and the way of working were long settled.
In 2011 he separated from the family house to work under his own name.
What he farms today is seven vineyards, the 7 Lieux, all biodynamic. La Boissonneuse is one of them: eleven hectares on a slope beside the village of Préhy, on Kimmeridgian soil.
