The estate was founded in the early 1980s by Philippe Moyne, a lawyer who left the law for the vineyard, in the village of Mathenay. He started with three hectares.
Fabrice Dodane is from Arbois. He studied oenology in Beaune and learned his trade at the Pupillin cooperative before joining Saint Pierre in 1989 as manager and winemaker. Under him the vineyard grew from those three hectares to seven and a half, split between Arbois and Côtes du Jura, on limestone and marl.
In 2002 he began converting to organic and obtained Ecocert certification in 2008. In 2012 he went further and adopted biodynamics.
Among his reference points he names Emmanuel Houillon, of Overnoy-Houillon, and Jean-François Ganevat, whose wines are also in our catalogue.
