Château Cadet Soutard, at barely one hectare, is one of the most exclusive wines from Saint-Émilion. A micro cru within the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, it enjoys an exceptional location neighbouring some of the appellation's legendary properties: Château Soutard, Château Cadet-Pontet and Château Dassault. Limestone clay soils. 100% Merlot. 5,000 bottles.

Manual harvest. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged in new barrels (25%) and barrels of 1 year or more (75%).

Château Cadet Soutard 2018 es un tinto de la bodega Château Cadet Soutard, producido en la denominación de origen Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, dentro de la región de Burdeos, Francia. Se trata de un micro cru que ocupa apenas una hectárea, ubicado en un enclave cercano a Château Soutard, Château Cadet-Pontet y Château Dassault.

La elaboración se realiza con una vendimia manual y un 100% de uva Merlot. Tras la recogida, el mosto fermenta en depósitos de acero inoxidable. La crianza se lleva a cabo en barricas, con un reparto del 25% en roble nuevo y el 75% en barricas de un año o más. El suelo de la parcela es de arcilla caliza y la producción total es de 5.000 botellas.

Este vino se define por su origen singular en Saint-Émilion y por una técnica de crianza que combina roble nuevo con piezas de mayor antigüedad, buscando un equilibrio entre frescura y estructura sin perder la identidad de la variedad Merlot en este entorno particular.

It is wedged between Château Soutard, Château Cadet-Pontet and Château Dassault, on clay-limestone, and planted entirely to merlot with vines averaging thirty-six years.

Hand harvest, and ageing with 25% new barrels and the rest of one or more wines.

It should not be confused with Château Soutard-Cadet, with a hyphen: that is a separate property, in other hands. The names are close enough that catalogues and search engines mix them up regularly.
