The Château Cadet Soutard, barely one hectare in size, is one of the most exclusive wines from Saint-Émilion. A 'micro cru' just within the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, it enjoys a truly exceptional location as a neighbor of some legendary "appellation" properties such as Château Soutard, Château Cadet-Pontet and Château Dassault. Limestone clay soils. 100% Merlot. 5.000 botellas.

Manual harvest. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aging in new barrels 25% and barrels of 1 year or more 75%.

PARKER: 94

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Soutard-Cadet (composed of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc) offers up black plums, warm blackberries and smoked meats scents with hints of black soil, tobacco and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has fantastic concentration and depth, with a firm, grainy frame and long savory finish.

James Suckling: 93

There’s a sense of density and richness here from the outset with aromas of cedar and blackberries, as well as dark plums. The palate delivers handy tannin grain and a long, structured finish. Try from 2022.

vinaris: 95+

With just one hectare of vineyard in Saint-Émilion, this is the best red in the region that we have tasted to date (2021). It is a serious, honest wine, with a very complex nose that does not stop unfolding in layers, full of notes of ripe fruit and liquor. Silky, wide, tasty and delicate on the palate. Fantastic wine, a treat for the senses.
