The Bourgeois family has tended vines in Chavignol, Sancerre, since 1696 — ten generations of Loire mastery that Jean-Marie and Rémi Bourgeois channelled into Clos Henri in Marlborough, founded in 2000 after twelve years of searching. The Estate Sauvignon Blanc blends parcels on Otira Glacial Stones and two windblown Waimaunga Clays at 85–150 metres altitude, across a property bisected by the Wairau Fault. Renamed 'Estate' from the 2021 vintage when the former Petit Clos vines reached maturity.

Fermented in stainless steel and aged three months on fine lees with regular bâtonnage. The 2024 vintage was shaped by the driest Marlborough growing season in 94 years, with yields down 20–30% and small, intensely flavoured berries.
