Domaine Gallet is a sixth-generation family estate in Ampuis, bottling their own wine since 1987. Their vines occupy the lieux-dits Laucement de Chambard and Charavane at the summit of the Côte Blonde, where steep metamorphic gneiss and mica-schist soils shape wines of precision. Averaging 45 years old, the vines are farmed with lutte raisonnée principles and harvested entirely by hand.
Following Côte Rôtie's defining tradition, 94% Syrah is co-fermented alongside 6% Viognier, the white grape providing aromatic lift and helping fix the wine's signature violet and spice character. The wine then ages approximately two years in oak barrels, building texture and depth while preserving the elegance that these ancient hillside parcels naturally express.
