Bodega Eresma

Bodega Eresma was founded in 2006 in Olmedo, in the south of Valladolid province and within DO Rueda, as a project of a group of friends from the wine trade. The company is called La Soterraña, and the wine took the name of the Eresma, the river that runs past Olmedo.

Most of its vineyard is Verdejo, with Sauvignon Blanc and some Viura, and the house also works with Godello.

Eresma+ Cuvée Especial is its top wine, made in short runs: Verdejo from some two thousand old vines, between 700 and 1,000 metres, yielding a kilo and a half per vine, aged on its lees.

The Godello Eresma comes from old vines on gravelly soils; it is made only from free-run juice after a cold soak, and spends six months on fine lees.
