Pascal Balland has run the family estate in Bué, in Sancerre, since 1984, with roots in the village since the mid-17th century (1650). Until 1975 the house's main activity was livestock farming alongside the vines; since then it has focused solely on growing vines.
The vines grow on caillottes (pebbles) and terres blanches, the white limestone soil typical of Sancerre. They make Sauvignon Blanc in white and Pinot Noir in red and rosé.
