Bodegas y Viñedos Monteabellón was founded in 2000 by the García family in Nava de Roa, Burgos, whose roots in the region stretch back several generations; today the estate farms 175 hectares across DO Rueda, DO Ribera del Duero and DOCa Rioja. The name Veintisiete pays explicit tribute to the Club of 27 — Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, Cobain, Winehouse — musicians of exceptional talent who lived with uncommon intensity, a spirit the producer channels into what they describe as "pure emotion in the glass."

The wine is 100% Verdejo sourced from Rueda vineyards at 750 metres altitude, planted in sandy-loam soils interspersed with rounded river gravel. Pale yellow in the glass, it opens with an exuberant floral nose alongside primary fruit, banana and exotic fruit characters underpinned by a light herbal thread; the palate is fresh and well-balanced with lively acidity and a moderate 12.5% alcohol. Successive vintages have scored consistently between 89 and 91 points with Peñín, confirming both the quality and the reliability of this bottling.
