Chacra Cincuenta y Cinco takes its name from 1955, the year this Pinot Noir vineyard was planted in Mainqué, Alto Valle del Río Negro — making the vines 69 years old at the 2024 harvest. Situated at 290–330 metres in northern Patagonia, the three parcels covering seven hectares rest on alluvial, sandy-pebbly soils formed at the confluence of the Limay and Neuquén rivers; the high sand content renders the site naturally inhospitable to phylloxera, allowing the vines to grow ungrafted on their own roots. The vineyard is farmed organically and biodynamically, and the fruit is 100% Pinot Noir.

Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with native yeasts using a blend of 50% whole clusters and 50% destemmed fruit in a combination of concrete vats and neutral oak barrels. Ageing takes place in roughly equal parts concrete tank and second-to-fourth-use French oak, with no new wood introduced at any stage; the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Bodega Chacra was founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, grandson of Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, creator of Sassicaia — a lineage that lends context to the precision and restraint evident throughout the winemaking approach.
