Château de Vallagon

We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.

The lands of Vallagon once belonged to the Chenonceau estate.

Where the château stands today there was a sixteenth-century manor house. In the nineteenth century a businessman turned it into a house of Bourré stone surrounded by woods and vines, and in 1864 he installed a press there. In 1912 Lucien Meyer bought it and one of his sons farmed it.

It is in Bourré, in the Coteaux du Cher, within Touraine, and the wine is made with the Oisly et Thésée cooperative.

The sauvignon blanc comes from vines around twenty years old on clay-limestone soils with tuffeau, the soft stone of Bourré. It ferments in stainless steel between 14 and 16 degrees and sees no oak.
