Domaine de Sainte Marie
We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.
The family has its own motto, «Fidelis, Fortisque Simul» — faithful and strong at once — and it relaunched the winery under it.
The Sainte Marie d'Agneaux are of Norman origin and have been in the Jura for more than two hundred years: first in Montigny-lès-Arsures, near Arbois, and later in Saint-Germain-lès-Arlay.
The domaine was relaunched in early 2020 with Bertrand de Sainte Marie, his son Gaëtan and the oenologist Nicolas Cottier. There are 14 hectares of clay-limestone soils near Château-Châlon, converting to organic and HVE certified, planted with savagnin, chardonnay, poulsard and trousseau.
Duo de Savagnin brings together two ageings of the same grape: 70% ouillé, in topped-up barrels so it does not oxidise, and 30% aged three years sous voile, under a veil of yeast. Around 6,000 bottles.
