Domaine des 3 Cellier
We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.
The name is the three brothers: Ludovic, Julien and Benoit Cellier, who together with Nathalie, Ludovic's wife, took over the family estate in 2007. It used to be called Domaine Saint-Benoît.
They are the eighth generation of a family settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1650.
They work a little over 13 hectares in the appellation, with vines averaging around forty-five years. They are converting to organic farming and several cuvées have been certified since the 2016 vintage.
In red they make Alchimie, Marceau, Privilège and Eternelle; in white, L'Insolente, from roussanne.
Marceau comes from the Terres Blanches soils with rounded pebbles: 50% mourvèdre, 30% grenache noir, 10% counoise and 10% vaccarèse. It is picked by hand in successive passes, destemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled bare concrete vats, then aged in oak barrel with a light filtration.
