Domaine Foret

At the entrance to Arbois, on the national road 83, there is a metal clavelin almost six metres long and weighing three tonnes, with its glass beside it. He made it himself: Frédéric Foret is a vigneron who welds iron, and the piece has been an emblem of the town since 2012.

Elie Foret founded the domaine in 1885, when he planted his first vines, and it is still in the family's hands.

There are 7.5 hectares under reasoned farming with the five traditional Jura varieties. Three and a half of them are in the lieu-dit Les Corvées, which belonged to an abbey in Arbois before the Revolution.

The Poulsard comes exclusively from the lieu-dit Curon, within the Arbois appellation.

It is 100% poulsard from Curon fermented with indigenous yeasts, after a cold pre-fermentation maceration of about three days and a cuvaison of around seventeen. A portion ages close to seven months in old oak vessels. It is bottled unfiltered and with no added sulphur: around 4,000 bottles.
