Finca Millara

We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.

In 1999 a businessman from A Coruña and fine wine distributor, Fernando de Santiago Boullón, came to the Ribeira Sacra to buy a vineyard in Pantón and found the village of Millara, abandoned and in an exceptional spot. He bought the village.

The work went far beyond the vineyard: the houses, the walls and the tracks were rebuilt to strict traditional architecture criteria, using only stone and wood.

That same year the recovery of the old plantings began, building up one of the largest estates in the appellation: around 12 hectares. Iván Olmedo runs the project today.

They are in Míllara, in the Ribeiras do Miño subzone, within the municipality of Pantón, in Lugo. In 2021 they became the third winery in Ribeira Sacra to be granted the Xunta's Galicia Calidade seal.

Ribera de los Naranjos comes from vines over fifty years old on terraces above the Miño canyon, facing south on 50% slopes, in poor slate and schist soil. It carries mencía, garnacha tintorera and sousón, is picked with 20% whole clusters and ages six months in new French 500-litre barrels and another six in bottle. Around 2,000 bottles are made.
