Verónica Salgado

We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.

The winery carries the mother's name and the wines the daughter's: the house is registered as Ascensión Repiso Bocos, and Verónica is the younger daughter of Ascensión and Tasio.

Verónica Salgado is an oenologist from the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona and worked at Grupo Matarromera and at Pago de los Capellanes before giving herself fully to the family project. She is the winemaker and technical director, and she controls the whole process herself.

They are in Pesquera de Duero, in Valladolid, on the stretch of the Duero they call the Golden Mile. They farm organically and make over 30,000 bottles a year, a good part of them sold at the winery itself to those who come to visit.

They ferment in small tanks, of 5,000 and 10,000 litres, so that fruit and must stay in closer contact.

Capricho Viñas Viejas is tinta fina from the Pago del Moral, from vines planted in 1950 at around 800 metres, on clay and limestone soil with a great many rolled pebbles. It goes through malolactic fermentation in barrel, ages twelve months in new barrels and rests another thirty-six months in bottle before release.
