Quinta de la Quietud
We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.
The winery belongs to a former footballer. It was founded in 1999 and two years later a group of businessmen led by Eusebio Sacristán took control and turned it over to organic farming: it has been certified since 2002.
It sits in the middle of the La Jara vineyard, in Toro, and the winemaker who runs it is the Frenchman Jean-François Hébrard. He works Tinta de Toro from vines ranging from thirty to ninety years old.
Quinta Quietud comes from vineyards planted between 1960 and 1988, on sandy clay loam with rolled pebbles, and it is 100% Tinta de Toro.
It ferments spontaneously and with no added sulphites in open, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Skin maceration runs fifteen to eighteen days, with two hand pump-overs a day and two délestages at the end, and it ages twenty-four to thirty months in 225-litre French oak barrels, a third of them new at most.
