Domaine Manuel Olivier

Manuel Olivier started in 1990 with a few hectares of vines, while also growing soft fruit. He did not come from a winegrowing line: he built the house himself.

He works more than fifteen hectares today from the hamlet of Corboin, in the commune of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The bulk is in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, but he holds parcels across the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune: Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Aloxe-Corton, Pommard, Meursault and Clos de Vougeot.

Since 2019 he has taken part in something rarely seen: the recovery of the Dijon vineyards and the setting up of a new appellation, Bourgogne Dijon. Burgundy's map has been settled for generations and seldom grows.

His Hautes Côtes de Nuits comes from vines of about thirty years a kilometre from the Clos de Vougeot, on a gentle east-southeast slope at 350 metres, on clay-limestone soil half made of stone.
