Château de la Charrière

The Girardins have grown vines for thirteen generations. The domaine as it is known today took shape in the 1960s with Jean Girardin, who bought the Château de la Charrière.

In 1981 the family's twelve hectares were divided among the heirs and Yves Girardin was left with three. That is the starting point for everything that followed.

He bought vines to rebuild the estate and widen its range of appellations: parcels in Chassagne-Montrachet and in Pommard, until passing twenty hectares. They run from Maranges to Savigny-lès-Beaune, with some sixteen of pinot noir and four of chardonnay.

In 2003 he closed the circle: he bought the Château de la Charrière, the property that had been his father's, and built a new cellar there. The house is based in Santenay.
