Domaine Heller

The house was founded by a French businessman, founder and president of the supply firm Adionis, who came to wine from outside it and with a specific aim: to make wine without added sulphur.

His range is called Anarchie and the statement of intent is explicit. The house sums it up as the liberation of human beings from every form of domination, with respect for the earth and for other people. The labels are by Guillaume Schaffhauser, Frakone, a calligrapher who comes out of urban art.

What is interesting in the glass is the make-up. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape rests on old cinsault vines, completed by a plot planted in 2003, and cinsault reaches 57% of the blend. In an appellation where grenache almost always leads, a cinsault-dominated wine is not the usual thing.

Alongside those two come more than ten further varieties, including minor ones such as counoise, piquepoul noir, muscardin and bourboulenc, on soils of gravel, sand and clay.
