Domaine Cazes

Michel Cazes founded the house in 1895 in Rivesaltes, in Roussillon, between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.

What defines it is the pairing of two figures that rarely go together: two hundred and twenty hectares, all of them biodynamic, Demeter certified, since 1997. Biodynamics calls for preparations, calendars and a great deal of hand work, which is why it is usually practised on small estates; here it is applied across a very large surface.

The vineyard sits where two different formations meet: the middle terraces of the Agly valley and the torrential alluvial cone of the Reboul.
