Domaine de la Clartière is a family estate rooted in the hills of Anjou, where the Pinet family has been cultivating the vine across four generations since around 1930. Spanning 40 hectares and tended today by Agnès, Pierrot, Pierre-Antoine, and Edouard Pinet, the domaine sits within the Anjou Noir, a pocket of the Loire Valley defined by its distinctive pebbly schist soils — geologically set apart from the region's better-known granite and tuffeau terroirs, and prized for the mineral tension and depth it lends to white wines. The estate's commitment to responsible viticulture is recognised through both HVE (High Environmental Value) and Terra Vitis certification.

For this Sauvignon Blanc, the Pinets employ a 12-hour skin maceration before fermentation in stainless steel, a deliberate choice that coaxes greater aromatic complexity, body, and a subtly creamy texture from the grape without straying into orange-wine territory — the result is a Sauvignon Blanc that feels simultaneously fresh and satisfyingly substantial, aged further on its fine lees for added roundness. The approach has drawn serious critical attention: the Guide Hachette des Vins 2026 awarded this 2024 vintage two stars and its prestigious Coup de Cœur distinction, making it one of the most compelling overachievers you will find at €11.48.
