Félix Lorenzo Cachazo

We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.

Bodegas Félix Lorenzo Cachazo is a family house in Pozáldez, in the heart of DO Rueda: that of Félix Lorenzo Cachazo and his wife, Rita Heras, and their children, Ángela Lorenzo, the winemaker, and Eduardo Lorenzo, who handles sales. Its label is Carrasviñas.

The family revived Carrasviñas Dorado, Rueda's traditional oxidative wine, which had fallen out of use: it adds Palomino to the Verdejo and is made from grapes picked at 15 degrees, with no fortification.

Among its vineyards are about nine hectares of pre-phylloxera vines over 140 years old. Carrasviñas Félix was born with the 2020 vintage as a tribute to the founder on his eightieth birthday, made by his daughter Ángela: Verdejo from those old vines in Alcazarén, on sand.

It ferments spontaneously, without temperature control, and ages over twelve months in clay jars, with the lees stirred daily at first and monthly by the end. The 2021 vintage ran to 2,096 bottles.
