Domaine des Grandes Espérances

The domaine is in Mesland, in Touraine, and it is fifty hectares farmed organically.

It has belonged to the Saget-La Perrière house since 2010. It went through Terra Vitis before gaining Ecocert organic certification, which it has held since 2019.

Sandy and siliceous soils are what mark their wines. Le Roi Soleil is 100% sauvignon blanc, the grape that rules in Touraine, from a thirty-year-old vineyard.

It is picked by hand, with twelve hours of skin maceration and forty-eight of cold settling to draw out the most aroma. It ferments in barrels that have already seen two vintages and ages in barrel with regular stirring to put the fine lees back in suspension.
