Cave Jumert
We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.
The house was set up in 1800 and has passed from father to son ever since. Françoise and Florent Jumert run it today; he came in in 2009, after training in vines and wine.
They are in Villiers-sur-Loir, in the Loir-et-Cher, seven kilometres from Vendôme, within the Coteaux du Vendômois appellation.
They work a little over twelve hectares on clay and flint soils, with vines older than a hundred years, and they have gone more than eight years without herbicides. The main grape is pineau d'aunis, alongside cabernet franc, pinot noir and gamay.
Tradition is 50% pineau d'aunis, 30% cabernet franc and 20% pinot noir. It ferments in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts and sees no oak: 5,800 bottles.
