Narupa Vinos

Narupa began in 2013 in Barrantes, in Val do Salnés (Rías Baixas), started by four friends: the siblings Rosa and Fran Pedrosa, Ruth Campelo and Nacho Jiménez. Rosa Pedrosa, the winemaker, runs the winery.

The name is the sum of the partners' names: “Na” comes from Nana, Rosa's nickname, and from Nacho; “ru” from Ruth; and “pa” from Paco, short for Francisco.

They start from a family vineyard in Barrantes, Finca Outeiral, which gives its name to one of their wines. Their variety is Albariño: Alalá, Salicornia, Piorno and Finca Outeiral.

Caneco 2025 is 100% Albariño from sandy granite soils, about five kilometres from the Atlantic, with cold pre-fermentation maceration, native yeasts and nine months on lees in stainless steel. A caneco is the Galician clay jug in which the grandfather of one of the founders made wine at home.
