Roux Père et Fils

This house's history can be followed purchase by purchase, with dates. In 1885 Louis Roux, the family's first winegrower, acquired his first parcel: Les Pucelles, in Saint-Aubin. In 1934 came vines in Puligny-Montrachet; in 1960, in Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay; and in 1974, in Meursault.

The domaine as such was created in 1972 by Marcel and Bernadette Roux, the fourth generation. Marcel, born in 1927, was the one who took it past twenty-five hectares, a figure reached in 1990.

Between 1975 and 1994 their three sons joined one after another — Christian, Régis and Emmanuel — and by 1996 the estate had reached fifty hectares.

From one parcel in 1885 to fifty hectares in a little over a century. It is cited as the largest producer of Saint-Aubin.
