Château La Bessane

The vineyard carries 22% petit verdot, a proportion found on no other estate in Margaux.

In 1993 Martine Cazeneuve, owner of Vignobles Paloumey, took over these two hectares in Cantenac.

The rest of the planting is 55% merlot and 23% cabernet sauvignon, on soils of gravel, pebbles and clayey sand. The estate has been certified organic since the 2021 vintage.

The 2020 is a blend of 57% merlot, 28% cabernet sauvignon and 15% petit verdot, with twelve months in barrel. There were 8,000 bottles.
