Château Beaumont les Pierrières
We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.
The house was born of a purchase: in 1760 the family bought a vineyard in Berson called La Pierrière, and that is where both the château's name and the wine's came from.
The property passed through the Roy family and then the Filliatreaus over more than two centuries and nine generations. Today the Filliatreau couple are in charge.
There are eighteen hectares in Berson, in the heart of the Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, of which one and a half go to white. The vineyard sits on a clay slope well exposed to the south and the oldest vines reach thirty years. The planting is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The estate has held High Environmental Value certification at its third level since the 2019 vintage. The red ferments in stainless steel and spends six months in barrel before the final blend.
