Domaine des Nugues

Gérard Gelin bought the estate in 1976. His son Gilles joined in 2000 and his daughter-in-law Magali in 2008.

It lies in the north of Beaujolais, among the crus of Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie and Morgon.

There are 36.11 hectares, and the breakdown says a good deal: 24.55 in Beaujolais-Villages, 5.46 in Fleurie, 2.48 in Moulin-à-Vent and one in Morgon. Almost seven in every ten hectares of the house are Villages, and under a quarter sit in cru.

The vines average around forty-five years, and some gamay is over a century old. The whites are entirely chardonnay.
