Château Franc La Rose

The Trocards have worked vines in the Libournais since 1620, fifteen generations in a row. Theirs is one of the oldest families on Bordeaux's Right Bank.

They hold fifteen properties today across five appellations, and Franc La Rose is one of the small ones: six hectares on the clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, within Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Jean-Louis Trocard has run the vineyards since 1976. His eldest son, Benoît, joined in 2002.

The vines are around forty years old, harvested by hand, and the estate holds HVE certification. Seventy-five per cent merlot and twenty-five per cent cabernet franc.
