Raymond Usseglio & Fils

We let you know when a new wine arrives or drops in price.

The story starts in 1931, when Francis Usseglio left Piedmont and settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape to work in other people's vines. He arrived not as an owner but as a farm labourer.

He had two sons. Pierre kept the family holding and Raymond set up his own, under his own name, in 1964. That is why there are two Usseglio wineries in the appellation: two branches of the same house.

Stéphane Usseglio, Raymond's son, joined in 1999 at twenty-two and runs and makes the wine today.

Some eighteen hectares within Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on markedly different terroirs — rock, stone, clay, sand and limestone — spread across the lieux-dits of l'Arnesque, Bois Sénéchaux, Cabrières, Charbonnières, Palestor, Les Terres Blanches and Le Tresquoys.
