Sauvignon Blanc representa el 35% de las variedades de uva en el viñedo de Château Guiraud. Esta variedad de uva muy elegante se selecciona de las cepas más antiguas en el conservatorio de la propiedad. Se replanta y vinifica por separado, contribuyendo así a la firma de Château Guiraud, 1er Grand Cru Classé en 1855 en Sauternes. El 80% del suelo esta constituido por grava arenosa, el resto se compone de suelos más profundos que mezclan grava, piedra caliza y arcilla pesada. Las parcelas ofrecen un suelo heterogéneo.

Tasted as part of a vertical held at the chateau. Like one or two other 2007s, the aromatics on the Guiraud ’07 are rather subdued at the moment and they demand coaxing to offer honey, lemon curd and orange blossom. The palate is well-balanced with finer tannins than the 2006. Here, the quality of the vintage finally shows through with impressive precision and focus, building toward the fresh, feminine apricot and dried peach finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is an outstanding Guiraud, but it will reward those with patience. Drink 2017-2035. Tasted April 2013.
