The white 2020 Abaris Parcela Santa Ana is pure Viura from a vineyard in Ábalos, two north-facing terraces on shallow soils with limestone on the surface, at 600 meters above sea level. It fermented and matured in 500-liter oak barrels with bâtonnage for the first four months, with a total élevage of around 10 months. It's 14% alcohol but has very high acidity—7.44 grams—and incredible freshness, with a pH of 3.34. It's clean, serious, austere and, dare I say, varietal and mineral, with some notes of pollen and verbena, with effervescent freshness and a long, dry and vibrant finish. This is an amazing white for the long haul. 1,113 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2021.
